Mobility brings with it a perspective of journey, of mo-vement, that allows us the separation between subject and object, or between observer and landscape, i.e. we are moving through the world as an external thing.
However, this is only one way of seeing this. A journey is also a cognitive and interpretative experience of active subjects within the territory, and therefore deeply social and contextual process. Beyond mere con-templation, when we observe the landscape, society, birds, and shrubs, we externalize our own categories of thought to provide meaning, to “make sense” of what appears before us. In this way, it is a journey inward, into the fabric of interactions within the landscape and its complexity, where actors perceive their surroun-dings, themselves, and produce effects on others.
Finally, it is about expanding our understanding of ecosystem dynamics, valuing them, and thinking about new ways of articulation that enable a different future.
