There is a stream in Matosinhos, Porto that has lost its relevance throughout the years. Ribeira da Riguinha, once vibrant and pristine, has become channelled and polluted due to urban sprawl and residual waters. Matosinhos Beach, cherished by the residents and those who visit, receives these murky waters laden with pollutants that compromise not only the marine ecosystem but also the trust and safety of people.
