The name GrünerKieze emerged as a reflection of the vision behind our revitalization efforts. Drawing inspiration from the German word Kieze, meaning “heart” or “neighborhood,” the name also nods to Reuterkieze, a historic reference to the area’s identity. By adding Grüne—the German word for “green”—we emphasize the sustainable and eco-friendly developments we aspire to introduce.
This name encapsulates the essence of our project: a harmonious blend of preserving local heritage while creating new green spaces that cater to both locals and visitors. GrünerKieze symbolizes a vibrant, people-centric neighbourhood that connects the community through a network of lush, pedestrian-friendly streets and public spaces, making it a welcoming hub for all.
