A Place for You

Transforming the abandoned 2004 Athens Olympic Canoe Centre into a vibrant community hub that reimagines recreation through the youthful, inclusive lens of three young women—Maya, Nora, and Zoey. Using existing research and verbatim accounts to understand the adolescent experience of public play, we have created a public place where girls and young women can freely express themselves through movement, sport and pause while building confidence and community.
