In the contemporary context of climate warming, rapid urban expansion and agricultural decline, it becomes particularly important to overcome the challenges of metropolitan areas like city of Milan. By focusing on the urban-agricultural landscape in south Milan, following the city growth the isolation of urban environment from agricultural and natural landscapes created a disconnection that prevents ecological balance and diminishes the quality of urban life. This concept aims to create a new boundary entrance system that goes deep into the transition area, constituting green sequences to integrate urban fabric with agricultural lands. In the process of interpretation for the transitional area, numerous lost sites scattered along this edge has been discovered. Our project is about focusing on one of this defined entrances for the purpose of integration along the urban-agro edge and transform the lost site as a fragmented part of the landscape along it. Application of public plantation fields and agroforestry practices, will be part of the design guideline for our site. With this green transitional approach we will reimagine the site as a public sustainable landscape experience. This approach not only revives our lost site but also can be a future replicable sustainable model for transition of urban-agro edges, promoting ecological balance and enhancing urban life in south Milan.
