The problem of Gijón and its seafront is a problem that can be extrapolated to many cities around the world. Especially in the last century, after a period of uncontrolled industrial growth, natural spaces have been consumed and have lost their natural condition. Moreover, they have become huge urban barriers and have generated pollution whose impact on the health of citizens is palpable.
This proposal studies this impact, investigates the rich natural heritage of a coastal environment such as the city of Gijón and proposes how to recover the natural values that have been lost. Only in this way, we will reactivate the complex territorial mechanism that human unfortunate actions have insisted on breaking.
